The 6230 (not 6230i) is listed as 16-bit everywhere, yet I just got a report and confirmed it on the S40 DP2 emulator that it actually acts as 12-bit. Images look like 12-bit, getNativePixelFormat() returns 444, and drawPixels() will throw an exception for anything higher than TYPE_USHORT_444_RGB.

How can that be? And are there other phones that are likewise listed as supporting higher color depths than they actually are (at least thru J2ME)?
