    installing phpmyadmin on PAMP

    just in case anyone is wondering- iv managed to get phpmyadmin working.

    i installing pamp on c drive then placed phpmyadmin into the htdocs folder, not yet tried putting it before root folder and htaccess to rid security risks but im sure thats not a problem

    i used version

    phpMyAdmin 2.5.6-rc2

    which is the newest version that will work while SKIP_GRANT_TABLE is enabled in mysql.

    you need to make a change in your php.ini file

    change

    session.save_handler = user

    to

    session.save_handler = files

    also you need to change your phpmyadmin/config.inc.php

    change localhost to 127.0.0.1

    $cfg['Servers'][$i]['host'] = '127.0.0.1'; // MySQL

    if your trying a new version of phpmyadmin you will need to change the line

    $cfg['Servers'][$i]['extension'] = 'mysqli';

    to

    $cfg['Servers'][$i]['extension'] = 'mysql';

    thats all. then just start pamp then goto 127.0.0.1/phpmyadmin

    anyone who needs help with this contact me @

    or goto

    Re: installing phpmyadmin on PAMP

    I'm trying to get this to work, but I'm getting the following error:

    "phpMyAdmin - Error

    Cannot start session without errors, please check errors given in your PHP and/or webserver log file and configure your PHP installation properly."

    Using PHPmyadmin 2.11.4

    Changed save_handlesr to files in php.ini , changed localhost to 127.0.0.1 in config.inc.php.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Johan F.

    please read this thread

    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=126113

    you cannot install 2.11.4

    only 2.5.6 as mysql is started using SKIP-GRANT-TABLE and this cannot be changed
