    Re: S60 Signing and Certification

Signing is relevant only to the point where the install package is validated and the installer allows your application files to be copied on the phone. Once the application is installed nothing of what is related to the application signing has any influence in application's behavior.

If the application does not start there could be several reasons:
    - the UID3/SID was changed (e.g. from 0xE??????? range to 0x2??????? range) but this change was not correctly propagated to all the relevant places.
    - not all the components needed are installed (left out some DLL?)
    - some other weird thing

Verify your project to see if the first of the two possible causes are affecting it. Then make sure that you apply the tricks from http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...ded_panic_code so that you collect some hints about what is it really that goes wrong on the phone.

Hmm, tough customer. Not even our paying customers expect this much of a prompt service.

BTW, if you want answers don't hide your questions in sticky thread. Those threads are for reading and learning from, the new problems should be discussed in new threads.

    My suggestion:

    - Take the .sisx file that works. Unsign it using "signis -u" command.
    - Take the .sisx file that doesn't work. Unsign it using "signsis -u" command.

Compare the unsigned version of both files. If they don't match, then there is something wrong; either in the submission or something else.
