    Question Help Me Developing S60 1st App, Please...

    I'm beginner on developing symbian application, anyone help me please, i want to be a good symbian developer so bad...

    My Question :
    1. What tool do i need for developing S60 1st edition application ?
    2. I've already install MS Visual Studio 05 but on Carbide vs 3.0.1 installation, it can be detected, what problem do i have?

    If you read the release notes of Carbide.vs 2 and 3, you will see an important difference: Carbide.vs 3 does not support S60 1st edition.
    Personally I still use Visual Studio 6 for S60 1st ed.

    I want to develop my first application on s60 first edition.I have installed visual studio 6.0 and symbian 6.1 SDK.I have completed the detection process .When i am going to create my application on workspace it gives message that"The spacified project could not be inserted into the current workspace" and show a dialogue box "failed to open workspace".please help!

    The message is true as usual: neither the SDK nor the workspace should be put in a location that contains spaces (the default location for the SDK is usually OK, however the workspace may default to somewhere under Documents and Settings, which is not OK). Note that they also have to reside on the same drive.

    Ya, you are 100% right i have created the workspace in the same drive in which i have installed the SDK still this problem.Will you help me!

    As Wizard pointed out, what about space in the path?

    By spaces its meant like in the path 'C:\Documents and Settings\' is having a space between 'documents' and 'and'. Hope its clearer now.
