    N75 installation warning: "Application not compatible with phone. Continue anyway?"

    Dear experts,

    I have developed and Symbian signed the application and it installs fine on all the devices except N75. It gives following warning message "Application not compatible with phone. Continue anyway?".
    Here is my *.pkg file:

    ; Device compatibility
    [0x200005FE], 0, 0, 0, {"Nokia_ N75_ID"}
    [0x20002495], 0, 0, 0, {"Nokia E50 ID"}
    [0x20002498], 0, 0, 0, {"Nokia E51 ID"}
    [0x20001858], 0, 0, 0, {"Nokia E61 ID"}
    [0x20002D7F], 0, 0, 0, {"Nokia E61i ID"}
    [0x20001859], 0, 0, 0, {"Nokia E62 ID"}
    [0x20000604], 0, 0, 0, {"Nokia E65 ID"}
    [0x20000606], 0, 0, 0, {"Nokia 6290 ID"}
    [0x200005FF], 0, 0, 0, {"Nokia N71 ID"}
    [0x200005FB], 0, 0, 0, {"Nokia N73 ID"}
    ...

    It was tested on couple of N75 phones with same error message.
    I figured out that warning will disappear if

    ;Supports Series 60 v 3.0
    [0x101F7961], 0, 0, 0, {"Series60ProductID"}

    line is present. Unfortunately I have not Symbian signed the application for all the devices. Please advice how to proceed with the issue.

    Thank you.

    How about removing the underscope between n75 and id?

    Re: N75 installation warning: "Application not compatible with phone. Continue anyway

    Hi all,

    I'm seeing the same problem with my app. It installs without complaint on the other phones that I list in my pkg file, but installation on the N75 produces the "application not compatible with phone" warning message.

    The relevant line in my pkg file looks like this:

    [0x200005FE], 0, 0, 0, {"Nokia N75 ID"}

    The possibilities would seem to be:

    1. Placement of the line in the pkg file is incorrect. I'm discounting this because the N75 is embedded in the middle of a list of other phones on which installation works.

    2. The product ID is incorrect. Could be, but I see it listed as 0x200005FE in several places:

    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...fication_codes
    http://developer.symbian.com/wiki/di...AL+information
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.n..._0_en.pdf.html

    3. The text string "Nokia N75 ID" is incorrect. The examples given at http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...Device_Support and in the S60 Platform Identification Codes document suggest that, if there is a proper format, this is it. However, if the exact form of the text mattered, I would expect to see precise string literals documented somewhere, and I haven't. The closest that I've seen is the "device" column of the tables at http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...fication_codes.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Vince

    Thank you all for your suggestions.
    Thank you vlaviano for comprehended answer.

    In fact I have tried many combinations and verified each and every suggestion. Unfortunately nothing worked with N75. The problem is still unresolved. Some people have complained but nobody posted the solution so far. All the solution I saw refers that pkg has incorrect syntax. I double checked and triple checked and 15times checked. The syntax is the same as in multiple pkg guides. If somebody knows the answer please post it.
    Just to remind the core of the problem: Specifying correct product ID for N75 has exactly the same effect as specifying wrong product ID.

    Re: N75 installation warning: "Application not compatible with phone. Continue anyway

    If you strip out all the uid except the N75 one so it looks exactly like this:
    "[0x200005FE], 0, 0, 0, {"Nokia N75 ID"}"
    does it still have the same problem?

    I suggest you raise a support request or platform defect with Nokia if it proves that much of a problem as it might be a bug (of couse it might also be you are using a prototype or old ROM image)

    Typically what we do is use the "if" macro in the pkg file
    For example:
    IF (MACHINEUID = 0x20002495) OR
    (MACHINEUID = 0x20001856)
    ; do something
    ELSE
    "badmodel.txt"-"", FILETEXT, TEXTEXIT
    ENDIF

    Thank you Paul.

    Exactly the same line as you posted causes exactly the same problem as I posted. I am thinking to report it as a bug to Nokia support.

    Question Re: N75 installation warning: "Application not compatible with phone. Continue anyway

    So any conclusion? A platform bug? I am facing the same problem too.

    Oh, found it. http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph..._does_not_work

    So, have to use "IF ELSE" conditional statement inside pkg then, period.
    It happens to N75, 6210, 6110, E62.

    "PKG file, super size it, please"
