Periodically scanning for WLAN SSIDs from Java midlet..

    Hi all,

I have a Java Midlet that runs now, and I want it to be able to scan after WLAN SSIDs. I understand that the only API that can do such a thing has to be written in C++, but I want such an application to coexist with my Java Midlet. Presumably I want the c++ app to be called from the Java Midlet automatically and periodically, and return or write to file the nearby SSIDs.

Does any of you have any ideas of how to precede?

Any opinions, thoughts or even ideas are most appreciated!

PS! I have started playing around in Carbide C/C++, but it does not seem as convenient as NetBeans 6.01 with mobile pack..

    Kind regards,
    Morten Lindeberg

Yes, you are correct, you need native app for this (hmmm Python might help here too.. I am not sure though)

What you need then is a workaround called MIDP JNI

And someone else needs to step up here to tell how it is done from Symbian C++ point of view...
