    connect to AP with ioctl SIOCSIFNAME error: Funktion not implemented

    OK, I read info from
    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=125496

    Hello, I am using the following code from wiki:
    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...o_Access_Point

    But I got error with Funktion not implemented.
    Code:
    ret = ioctl(sockfd, SIOCSIFNAME, &ifreq2);
    I am using a N95 device.

    I don't know why they give an example, which function is not implemented yet?

    Is there any way to auto(programm) use an AP without selecting from the AP-Dialog?!

    Thanks

    Pai
    Code:
    void ReadAPTable()
    {
    	struct ifconf ifc;
    	int sockfd;
    	int ret, len;
    	struct ifreq ifreq2, *ifr;

    	sockfd = socket(AF_INET,SOCK_DGRAM,IPPROTO_UDP);

    	// This will get only the active connection list
            // Here, ifc.ifc_len will contain the number of active connections
    	ret = ioctl(sockfd, SIOCGIFACTIVECONF, &ifc);
    	printf("ap list: %s\n", ifc.ifc_buf);

    	// connect to ap
    	ret = ioctl(sockfd, SIOCSIFNAME, ifc.ifc_req);

    	close(sockfd);
    	free(ifc.ifc_buf);

    	return;
    }

    Re: connect to AP with ioctl SIOCSIFNAME error: Funktion not implemented

    after one year, I meet this problem again.

    Because I have installed the Mobile Web Server, durcing installation, I have choiced to install OpenC lib from this package. (accidentally!! so carefully by installing!!)

    And today when I tried this function, I got the same error, which is already corrected by using the new version of OpenC.

    So I have to install the newst OpenC again, now it looks like normal.

    Just a Note.

    Regards for all OpenC users

    Re: connect to AP with ioctl SIOCSIFNAME error: Funktion not implemented

    Hi

    I am also facing the same problem. I am trying to port Open source UPNP-stack onto the Syambian platform.
    And the ioctl call to get list of interfaces i.e SIOCGIFCONF on a UDP socket is failing with errno 88.
    I am confused as the meaning of errno=88 in libc/errno.h is ENOSYS(Function unsupported)
    and OpenC define it as EDOOFUS(Programming error). Whatever be the case ioctl call is failing with OpenC and I am stuck.

    Anybody knows how to fix it?? Urgent help.

    Thanks in advance
