Re: Flash Lite - Classes or timeline?

You can create your own libraries of components and use them in every project.

It is really easy to make a library, and add components to it, and you can then even customize the component in every project.

    Check out http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...Developers_Kit

This could be a starting liblary for you

    Hi BigN,

Flash Lite can run the components, the problem is the memory consumption. These components were designed for the desktop. Mobile developers generally build their own due to the varying device types it is quite difficult to produce a single solution.

I would not be surprised if this player is running badly, it is not Adobe software and the device has not be certified by Adobe. If you experience problems with non-Adobe and non-Nokia products then I suggest you ask the supplier of the software.

I see your point .... originally I was searching for a RAD platform which will run on any device ... finally I had to choose between 2 platforms Java or Flash. Since I had developed some apps with flash, I choose flash but I didn't expect that I need to create components again . it is really time consuming. By the way... why the device should be certified by Adobe? I thought that once flashlite is installed on any device the app will run.

The devices are certified because we take the issue of testing very serious. The certification process also allows us to better determine device capabilities and provide those through the Adobe Device Central tool.

That way, when you come to develop applications you can choose from the certified and in market devices and determine which meet your criteria for the market.

In some cases we are able to catch bugs in the implementations and ensure that these don't reach the consumer. Remember that each manufacturer will create their own port for Flash, and while the experience is the same at times features are turned off to meet the device spec.
