Arrow Flash Lite Code Camps - Talk to the Guru

In case you have not seen it yet, Flash Lite Code Camps are coming to your region.

In support of those camps, and in particular in support of those community members who can not make it to a camp, we have started inviting technology gurus on line to help. Last month two Navteq Gurus helped with map data issues. This month we have some Widget Gurus scheduled. Next month we will be inviting FL gurus to come online.

So if you plan to make it to one of the camps, or if you wish you could but just can't, subscribe to this thread for news of who and when we'll have gurus on line.

And if you have Flash Lite Gurus you always wanted to learn from, post a reply. I'll see what I can swing.

UPDATE: Talk to Dale Rankine, CEO of Moket, on 22 April 15:00 Brisbane time.

    Thanks for the offers.

We have Dale Rankine from Moket scheduled for April 22 at 15:00 Brisbane time.

@ chall3ng3r: does that time work well for you?
@ biskero: you want to set up one that works well for Americas and W Euro times. Something like noon Eastern some day?

Re: Flash Lite Code Camps - Talk to the Guru

Hey everyone, I'll be the "guru" for this upcoming Flash Lite session coming up on April 22nd.

I don't know about "guru" really, but I've been working with Flash Lite since 2004 through a little company I started called Moket (www.moket.com). I'm an Adobe Community Expert (Mobile), Adobe Certified Instructor (Flash Lite), and have been involved with the Forum Nokia Flash Lite Code Camps in the past month.

There's also a little bit about us over at Nokia's Media & Games section.

I'm very passionate about Flash on the mobile platform, and have committed a lot to it over a long time. I hope that I'll be able to bring you some insight into the Flash Lite ecosystem and platform through this online discussion on the 22nd, and answer your questions as best I can.

Hope to see you online then!

    Cheers.

    Dale.

Re: Flash Lite Code Camps - Talk to the Guru

Good question - I'm going to assume that you mean porting Flash between mobile paltforms? it's very straight forward especially when working in Flash Lite 2.x to port between what you build for the web and for mobile - depending on of course the functionality you are requiring from the handset. We find that adding about 10% of a web-Flash project time and budget covers us making a Flash Lite 2.0 version of the same content.

Porting Flash Lite content between (Flash Lite enabled) mobile platforms is pretty straight forward also. The main things you comes across are stage sizes and things like that, but with Flash Lite being vector-based, you can easily scale and make your content fit various screen saizes without having to make separate SWF files.

Have I answered your question there? Is there something specific you would like to know?

Re: Flash Lite Code Camps - Talk to the Guru

So as i understood i have to work a little bit on each platform version to make it compatible. Its not just create for one and deploy for many. Fine.

    Does it support Highdefinition video.
