"About" Window

Hi all,
I need to make an "About" window: few lines with a scroll bar to display the information of the application (like version, and so on ...).
Is there someone that can help me?
I try to see on the documentation for Python for S60 1.4.1 (section User Interface and Graphics) but I didn't find something good. Maybe didn't I check well?
bye bye, Chiara

If you want this about text on instalation you can define the .txt file on ensymble and when instaling it will appear on sceen.

Hope that helps

You can also use the appuifw.info for the about info to flash.

Re: "About" Window

I agree with JOM and Kandyfloss.
Currently we do not have any module for the about window (With only OK button) ,SO I prefer to use appuifw note for it.
If you want you can add a Feature Request here
Hopefully sometime it may find place in the future release.

@miohtama
the module is great hope it will be out soon.
@jom & kandyfloss
the idea is nice but it seems like we r making a compromise with this feature why not to develop extensions for that.
plz feedback

It's not easy to use extensions.. Lots of problems with signing and installation - even for the first version! How about updates and other simultaneous users of same extension? Sorry, no extensions for me..

If simple appuifw.note is not good enough, how about this. I use it in my wonderful "show me one color, in full screen" script:

Code:
def menu_about():
t = appuifw.Text()
t.clear()
t.color = RGB_BLUE
t.font = u"title"
t.style = (appuifw.STYLE_BOLD | appuifw.STYLE_UNDERLINE)
t.add(u'Watch Me - Light Now\n\n')
t.font = u"normal"
t.style = 0
t.add(u'Version: %s\n' % (VERSION))
t.add(u'Jouni Miettunen, 2008\n\n')
t.add(u'1 - less  2 - RED    3 - more\n')
t.add(u'4 - less  5 - GREEN  6 - more\n')
t.add(u'7 - less  8 - BLUE   9 - more\n')
t.add(u'          0 - Rotate\n')
t.add(u'* - Full screen   # - Normal screen\n')
t.add(u'Clear key - WHITE\n')

# HOX: Otherwise softkeys won't work afterwards
# app logic remains in rotate busy loop waiting keypress
global gState
gState = STATE_COLOR

# BUG: user can freely edit text, should be read-only
lock_about = e32.Ao_lock()
appuifw.app.body = t
appuifw.app.exit_key_handler = lock_about.signal
appuifw.app.menu = [(u"Return", lock_about.signal)]
lock_about.wait()

appuifw.app.body = canvas
appuifw.app.exit_key_handler = cb_quit
appuifw.app.menu = [

(u"About", menu_about),

Thats a good option, but I still go with appuifw.note as I need the about note to be different from the other intereaction in the application. But the choice depends on the developer.

I decided to make an about window like a Listbox() with two lines per raw. The first line shows things like author, website, license and the second line their contents. When user clicks on the item, a note is displayed, just in case some part of the text is hiding.

I About _
+------------------ +
Author:
Author name here
+-------------------+
Email:
my email
+-------------------+
.....
Option Exit

I think the standard Text() is not appropriated and using Listbox() reproduces what we are used to see in mobile interfaces.
