MessageBox API (JSR 266) [inbox, outbox access]

    http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=266

At the moment there is no way to read messages on the phone, this limits apps in the SMS arena.

JSR 266 was originally sponsored by Siemens so seems to be dead, it would be really useful though, please consider implementing this.

As you can note, the spec work has stopped and there is no specification, not even a draft available.

If you are asking Nokia to implement it, the simple answer is that nobody can implement it until the spec is ready.
On the other hand, if you are asking Nokia to specify this API, then you should instead contact JCP for this and put pressure in there to get things moving.

Cheers, I just emailed the jsr 266 comments address... it would be nice if there is some movement as there seem to be a few new apps in this area.
