Hi forumites,

I'm developing an SMS application where location awareness is not a must but a strong plus. Basically, a user SMSes the system and then given location-neutral or location-based services.

I searched the forum. I know that normally bulk SMS providers such as Clickatell do not provide any location information, as a special agreement with the provider is required.

However, I found this:
http://client338.lab.telin.nl:8080/w.../CellStats.jsp
and this:
http://www.itu.int/itudoc/itu-t/ob-l.../e212_685.html

I guess that given a cell ID I can obtain the user's coordinates somehow. But still, cell ID is not provided either by Clickatell.

I also found this:
http://www.KnowledgeWhere.com
but I never heard of them before.

Questions:
1. Are there any SMS centers such as Clickatell that provide a cell ID or any other hint I can use here?
2. Did anyone use the services of Knowledge Where, or any other location aware SMS processors?

Much appreciated.
