No Python after successful install on N80

I don't have a Windows computer so I installed 1.4.2 3rd edition for my N80 by downloading the .sis file from sourceforge and then installing it from within the file manager. I've tried both phone memory and card but with no luck either way. The install works fine but the problem is that I don't get the little Python icon anywhere to actually start Python. I've looked everywhere but it's not there.

Do I have install via a PC and that window$ program from Nokia?

I managed to install pys60 on my N95 without a pc suite.

PS. according to these instructions it should be possible

Here's the embarrassing solution: I didn't install the Shell. The Python installer is just a lib and the shell is what makes an icon.
