    Default URL's image/sound folders

    Hello.

This is my first topic! I am spanish but in Amsterdam, starting to do an internship in a mobile software company. I will be around here sometimes, also helping, I hope.

I am trying to develop an application that needs to know default URLs of image/sound/... folders in any filesystem, to start browsing from there and not from roots. I would like to know, if there is any paper that specifies filesystem's default hierarchy for all OS's (s40, s60, ...). For other brands as SE, Samsung, Motorola and LG would be also nice, but if not, please, for Nokia.

    Thank you!

    Re: Default URL's image/sound folders

    Hi Eledu,
    Welcome to Forum Nokia !!!!

    you are asking about ...

    HTML Code:
if there is any paper that specifies filesystem's default hierarchy
Is this means executable file format, including the header information and how the executable sections are organized ?
or some thing different which is related to image file format or sound file file format..pls explain it more..

    Regards,
    Parag Purkar

    Re: Default URL's image/sound folders

Maybe I have not explained myself very well, i am not very very fluent in english. But what I need is simpler than you say. I only need to know the "default folder hierarchy" of each platform or OS version. I mean the full path from the roots to reach image/sound/... (mainly media) folders in any device by default. For example: in a N95 it is C:/Data/[Images or Sounds or Videos]

    Thanks!

    Re: Default URL's image/sound folders

It is not only in N95 but all 3rd edition Symbian devices ...

    default folder for sound ,Video,Images...

C:\Data\Images ..or .. Sound.. or Video
User will also save it in memory card (E:\) if they wants ..

Ok, cool. So all S60 3rd edition devices use that folder hierarchy, but how about S40, S80, and other editions? Does Nokia have a document where this is listed, or is it described somewhere? I searched a bit on the site, but couldn't find a clear overview.

    Something like listed here: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...KtNe3lzhtcd-20

    But for other models...?

I don't know how you plan to use the info but when writing applications you should avoid hardcoding the paths but rather use APIs, such as PathInfo on S60, to cconstruct them dinamicaly.

    Re: Default URL's image/sound folders

Sorry for not specify my configurtion. I use J2ME, JDK 6 Update 5. I have proved all System FileConnection Properties on Nokia N95 and SE K800i and it returns default folders for images, sounds, ... But it does not work on Motorola K1, LG KE970 neither Samsung D900. In Samsung SGH-U600 work ones and others don not work.
