Apps not working with FL3 on N95

    Hi,
I recently upgraded the firmware of my N95 to 21.0.16 (where FL3 is now included). The problem is that now my Flash apps are not connecting anymore to the internet. I use loadVariables and then, normally my N95 automaticly shows the different AP's (WLAN, 3G,...). Now, this pop-up is not coming anymore? Result: my program won't work. I even tried it with some other sample progams, but same result; the pop-up with the AP's is not coming. What now?

    Hi,

FL3 now features same security sandbox as Flash Player 8 on desktop. So, you have to do one thing to make your FL applications connect to internet in FL3.

From Publish Settings in Flash 8/CS3, set the "Local playback security" setting to "Access network only".

    OR

Save your FL file(s) in one of the following folders:
    - PhoneMem:\Others\Trusted
    - MemCard:\Data\Others\Trusted

    best,

    Hi,

Yes it works now! Thanks! However, I don't understand the reason behind it? Just put it in a folder called Trusted and than it works. Strange... What is reason behind it?
Anyway, why does Flash asks also an explicit permission to connect to the internet. Can this be disabled now?

Re: Apps not working with FL3 on N95

    Hi,

Well, FL3 is implemented to work as browser plug-in, and it now features same security settings as on Flash Player 8 on desktop.

As FL profile also supports standalone applications, and there should be a way to make the standalone applications work out of browser security sandbox. So, the Trusted folder comes to help, which allows relaxed security settings.

    Hope it helps,
