    Hi,

I heard of foldable displays in one of the 3GSM congress conference, i think it will have a huge impact on mobile UI. Also, Television/movies and live video telecasting will grasp more importance.

    hi
i believe that the future technologies should focus in lots and lots of external devices like a magnetometer , a temperature sensor may a ultrasonic sensor.
this all will make a smartphone the best devices.
    thanks

Thumbs up Re: What are the Future Technologies

I see the future is when, mobile phones, desktops, TV and all the gadgets around converge and mobile phone being at the centre stage acting as the source of power and commnucation. It will connect, communicate and control the other devices around.

When you are at home, it works on the home WLAN, bluetooth and when you move out, it communicates over GSM/3G and when you are in office, it communicates over Office WLAN.

Is it like CPU of your desktop, which you are carrying around with a samll LCD and can connect to desktop PC and use.

I forgot to mark the Location Based Services and Maps while voting, but I feel that
    1) Location Based Services and Maps
    2) S60 Sensor Technologies
will be the technologies of the future,

The definition of a mobile will change to a Multifunctional device in the very future, as it is its already multifunctional with maps,mp3 players, video,Browsing, camera, etc. But more and more will be added to the list as time goes.

Re: What are the Future Technologies

Well after visiting the Nokia Lounge at Espoo and seeing all the new technology stuff it seems that Location based services, Music Store services, Sensors (Health and Atmosphere sensors), Games,Internet Services etc will be next evolving in the near future,

Also its good to know that Nokia is working specially to provide stuff which is benificial to the environment, specially recycled Devices !

I do believe that the NFC will take place more and more in our life.
for example take a look at nearconn, as it shown at Nokia MOSH http://mosh.nokia.com/content/4AB8F6...40050A453069BB

I would go for Web Runtimes such as Widgets/Widsets, Location Based Services and Maps, and some votes for Mobile Audio/Video Conferencing

Re: What are the Future Technologies

IS there even a technology in this poll which wont be used further or cant grow?

I think every field mentioned is important to develop, i see them as Technologies that will help to replace LAPTOP's (for users who have no developer's need from their laptop) to Smarter Mobile Phone.
IDEAS is all they need but still they think only Genius can give them that.
