    Symbian signing query

    Hi all,
I am fairly new to symbian signing concepts. I have developed an application for S60 2nd edition phone.I know that there is no technical requirement for signing for S60 2nd edition. But for a commercial release of my application, can i get my application signed??. What benifit do i get out of it??.(Express signed or Certified signed). In that case what is the cost involved in getting my application signed.

    thanks and regards,
    Krishna.

Yes, signing is available for S60 2nd Edition apps too. Some hints about the costs you can find here as for benefits they are mostly as added marketing value and trustability.

I went through the link. There there is a mention of AppTest Tool. I logged on to the the symbian signed site with my account. But i could find only the following tools.
    1. Disk Usage Tool (FExplorer (S60))
    2. File Storage Tool
    3.Task Profiler Tool
    4.LowMem Tool
    5. VerifySymbianSigned
    6. DevCertRequest
    7. Publisher ID export tool
    8. Certificate Manager Plugin

So in the site i dont find the AppTest Tool. Can someone tell me where i can find it???

    thanks and regards,
    Krishna.

    Hi,

They removed the AppTestLite tool from the site.

If you want the tool, mail me jobincantony@gmail.com.

Your problem above makes me wonder if this tools was not removed intentionally, because it as like ... not working. Distributing the application might seem like a helping hand but it is in fact a bad idea. You should let the publisher's of a tool decide if it should be still in circulation or not.
