Smile AnimaLogic: Web Runtime game example

    Hi!

I've released a first game (very alpha) for Web Runtime, and would be really glad to have some feedbacks

You can find it for download here: http://www.jappit.com/blog/2008/04/1...-runtime-game/

    Cheers,
    Pit

That's a very nice widget Jappit. Your app make me truly believe that widgets are a serious alternative to flash lite. The first and second time I mistaken the right softkey as the back button but then I did notice the * key to get back to the menu. I guess you use that to avoid getting displayed the back label? Do you know if it's possible to assign the back functionality without getting the label displayed ?

    Thanks

    Thanks a lot patmarc!

Thanks also for the back button hint... more in general, as I've written in the blog post, interface usability at the moment is not superb, but I wanted to share this first release as a "proof of concept".

Anyway, I personally think WebRuntime is a big opportunity for mobile apps/developers, and It's interesting to see how in this period web technologies are spreading quite everywhere (see Adobe Air for desktop apps).

    Cheers,
    Pit

    Hi jappit,

the game looks very nice and polished, I enjoyed it

Maybe you could speed things up a bit by selecting a piece first and then just using cursor to point the direction this piece should be swapped.
I think this would save one center button click -> player would be able to swap more pieces within time limit.

WRT is a S60 specific technology, not a Symbian one so the name or your post is a bit misleading but the game is indeed promising. Is it available in Mosh? (it is easier to download from there )

    Hi,

    Thanks for your feedback!

@jgroman: your idea to speed up pieces swap is pretty cool, I'll give it a try

@ltomuta: thanks for the hint, post name changed About Mosh, I had not yet thought about uploading the game there, but It would be surely interesting (and useful).

I previously asked jappit if it was possible to assign the back functionality without getting the label displayed. While reading the web run time api reference I got the answer to my question. It's as simple as that:

    window.menu.hideSoftkeys();

Yes patmarc, AnimaLogic currently hides soft keys using that method.

Replying to Itomuta, now AnimaLogic is on Mosh http://mosh.nokia.com/content/4B12A2...40050A4530716B
