Problem with bluetooth console and Linux

    Hello everyone!
I have a problem with connecting my Nokia e50 phone to my PC. Although i can send and receive files via OBEX protocol after adding my PC to known devices (i can't solve problems with pairing on my Linux and i don't want to use graphical passkey managers, i'm console freak).
Unfortunately I can't use bt console and Linux. I'm using Arch Linux as my distro and trying to set up my connections with only console commands (AFAIK every "bluetooth daemon" in every distro is only bunch of scripts which consists of utils from bluez-utils, so it shouldn't make problems). After some searching over net i concluded that this list of commands should work (of course i've tried hundreds more! and everyone of them is run as root):

    1. spdtool add --channel=2 SP
    2. rfcomm bind /dev/rfcomm0 MA:CA:DD:RE:SS 2
    3. hcid -s (i've tried running hcid in various moments, no effect)
    4. rfcomm listen /dev/rfcomm0 2

Bluetooth console after trying to connect returns "No serial ports found". Could anyone help me? I'd be really grateful (eg. license some of my PyS60 apps as GPL or BSD, give some bugtrack for you etc. :) Thanks for all!

EDIT: Or could anyone simple show his way of connecting using commands only? (or with thinks watch his daemon do if necessary). Thanks

I think in case of a PC you may be using a bluetooth dongle, and you need to create a serial port for bluetooth.

I think that rfcomm bind /dev/rfcomm0 MA:CAD:RE:SS 2 creates a port but i'll google more on it in near future.

I don't know exactly which bluetooth device my laptop, i think it's something usually sell with intel mainboards (the laptop is hp 6710s). AND AFAIR those commands should configure it well.

Re: Problem with bluetooth console and Linux

Hi I had the same problem as you and actually have the same DUT as me.

    Here is what I did...

Pair your Linux PC with phone.
    Install cu from the repositories.
    Open terminal window and type...
    Code:
    hciconfig restart

    hciconfig reset

    sdptool add --channel=2 SP

    rfcomm listen rfcomm2 2
    You should see something like...
    Code:
Waiting for connection on channel 2
On the phone do Options > BT console > Select the PC you are connecting to
    Then you'll see...
    Code:
    Connection from 00:19:B7:4B:DF:9E to /dev/rfcomm2
    Press CTRL-C for hangup
Open a second terminal window and type...
    Code:
    cu -l /dev/rfcomm2
Hit return and when you see >>> type...
    Code:
    import appuifw
    appuifw.note(u"This works", "info")
    Sweet!
