Unable to install MIDlet in Nokia N95

    Hello,
I have a midlet which is tested on all phones with cldc 1.0 and midp 2.0. However i am unable to install it on N95. It just say's "inavlid jar file". Am transferring it via USB.

I have tried changing it's cldc version too.

Help in this regard would be highly appreciated.

    cheers

Are you using both jar and jad in the installation? If the MIDlet is not signed, try to install JAR only (maybe some attributes in the JAD are not exactly right)

Which tools did you use to create the MIDlet? What APIs are you using? Have you obfuscated the MIDlet, are you using some classes inheriting Canvas in the MIDlet (and have implemented a method called update in there)...

Red face Re: Unable to install MIDlet in Nokia N95

    Hello,
Are you using both jar and jad in the installation?--> No only JAR

Which tools did you use to create the MIDlet? --> NetBeans 6.0

This MIDlet has worked well on 100's of phones, but in N95 it is just refusing to get installed

What APIs are you using? --> MIDlet,Canvas

Have you obfuscated the MIDlet --> Yes

are you using some classes inheriting Canvas in the MIDlet (and have implemented a method called update in there)... --> update method in Canvas Class?.....

I have checked all necessary attributes in jar...it's all perfect...it just say's "invalid jar".

    help appreciated
    cheers

Can you try without the obfuscation?

Tried without obfuscation...no success..it just says "invalid jar"...the only problem i see in such a scenario is of some of the attributes missing in manifest...but that's not the case.

Found a similar post in this forum...Tried some of the get-aways that guys had to offer...but to no avail....

help in this regard highly appreciated..

i have just got stuck in this matter...

    cheers

    Just guessing still...

Is the JAR package compressed ("normal") or uncompressed?
    What is in the manifest?
