Carbide.c++ UI Designer deffect when using s60 2nd edition sdk

    Hello!
i'm writing an application using carbide.c++ 1.2 pro. i'm trying to use the UI Designer for my project. but there are some strange deffects in carbide.c++ UI Designer!!!
here are the steps to deffect!
    1. Go to / File/New/Symbian OS C++ project / and choose 2nd ed. GUI Application with UI Designer. give a name and next/next finish.
    2. Add some menu items to view1 using UI Designer.
    2. Add new UI Design. File/New/S60 UI Design. next/next finish.
    3. Add some menu items to view2 using UI Designer.
    4. Go application.uidesign.
    5. Choose UI Designs tab.
    6. Check Enable Navigation Pane Tabbing
    7. Add view1 and view2 to tab group.
    8. Save project.
    9. Run project /Ctrl+11/
    10. Switch tab and choose options menu then cancel the menu.
You can see the deffect on the emulator!
Dear nokia experts, how can i solve it?
    Thanks!!!

Re: Carbide.c++ UI Designer deffect when using s60 2nd edition sdk

As you do not describe the defect I can only give you a generic solution: all that Carbide does is to generate some C++ code based on your selections. If the code is somehow incorrect then you can fix it by editing the generated source code. Do keep your changes to a minimum though, so that you do not disturb the UI designer's parser.

Once the problem fixed consider whether applying the changes to the template itself would save you some troubles in troubles in the future.

Also, there is a new version of Carbide.c++ out for quite a while already. Could it be that this bug is already fixed?

Well I dont know for sure regarding this(cant verify at the moment as I dont have carbide on this machine), but check the release notes to see if S60 2nd ed is supported by carbide.c++ 1.3

So if the release notes says that they support S60 3rd with no mention of 2nd edition, then in all probability they know that it wont work right with 2nd edition SDK. So I am not sure if there would come any help with regards to that.

The deffects are unintentional of course but well ... unavoidable.

If you own a license for Carbide.c++ you are also entitled to support so please do contact the Carbide.c++ support service.

Alternatively, you can provide a sample application demonstrating the issue and we can see if the code can be fixed.

As you ask me i attached sample project files. plz see it and give me a advice.

    It created under carbide.c++ 1.2 and s60sdk fp2.
Plz run it in an emulator or a phone. Then switch views and select menu item. You can see this deffect.
