    SMS stuck in outbox

    Help,

    I have two SMS messages stuck in Outbox. Sending fails, there is no way to cancel or remove the messages (Nokia E61i) and constant resend attempts are KILLING THE BATTERY !!!

    Naturally I launched Ped and wrote the following little script. It fails with
    error for line "box=inbox.EOutbox()".

    Code:
    import inbox
    box = inbox.Inbox(inbox.EOutbox)
    m = box.sms_messages()
    for id in m:
      print box.content(m[id])
      #box.delete(m[id])
    PyS60 1.4.2 manual does not say that I need any capabilities to use inbox. Since required capabilities are mentioned with "keycapture", "location" and "positioning" modules, there must be something wrong with the code.

    SymbianError: [Errno -46] KErrPermissionDenied
    Any ideas what the problem might be?

    --jouni and a desperate battery

    Hi gaba88,

    Sorry I forgot to say that I wanted to DELETE those messages! Now after about 12 hours waiting, they got to "deferred" state and delete operation was possible. Huh

    Also the error got explanation: it only fails when run within Ped! Using normal Python Shell everything is ok. I had no idea Ped had such a limitation, too bad

    Thanx anyway,

    --jouni

    Hi jouni,

    Sometimes it does happen that PED gives KErrPermissionDenied error on running scripts. These scripts run fine with the shell, I had this experience when I used to upload files using PED, and it used to give similar errors, however the code used to run clean on the shell.
