I've run across an interesting problem. It seems that the 6340i (cingular) that I just acquired as a replacement does not work properly with the current modem .inf file and an IRDA connection.
At least when using it as a wireless PC Modem.
With a lot of messing around, I found that the "standard modem"
inf files do work, at least to some extent. The major problem is that the init strings on a standard modem include init 1, a string that usually contains only "AT<cr>" and a second string init 2, that contains the actual initialization string beginning with AT. The behavior with the Nokia inf file is that the first instance of a command string is not recognized, causing the string to be resent.
There also appear to be some minor? incompatibilities with the windows ME version of the system modem support modules.
Anyone else had this experience?
