Question Display Thai fond in flash lite 2.1 installed on S60 2nd

    Need helps.

My company has developed a flash lite application which is designed to retrieve any informations via XML encoded with UTF-8.

With Fl 2.1 installed on S60 3rd (like 3250/N71/N73/5700), It can display Thai font properly.

But on S60 2nd, It doubtfully displays Thai font with strange characters.

I have just read the FL 2.1 specification, it supports displaying any complex languages such as Thai.

Does anyone has any recommendations to fix this problem in S60 2nd?

    Thank you.

Are you sure the device supports Thai ?
Thai is originally supported only from 2nd ed FP 2.

Agreed, the strange characters are probably the result of the font not supporting Thai. I would suggest embedding the font glyphs, from a Thai font you use on the desktop, using the properties panel in Flash CS3.

From your recommendation, If I develop Fl app on Nokia 6680 (2nd FP2) it should be able display Thai.

Or how can I check the font list in Nokia 6680 or even N70.

I wouldn't bank on being able to display Thai characters, they are in the extended character set range and these are rarely complete for early devices.

You should use embedded fonts which can be achieved easily using the Flash authoring tool.

    ต้องติดตั้ง font ไทยเพิ่ม ครับ จะสามารถอ่านไทยได้ทุกๆ encoding เพราะ font ที่มากับเครื่องจะอ่านได้แค่ unicode

you must install new thai (ascii) font to your phone.

Nope, Symbian used unicode, so you would be a lot better having unicode encoded font, than using the byte-coded thai font characters.
