    JSR-75 PIM Contact Permission Issue

I am running a java midlet, signed with a verisign key, on a Nokia N95. On the N95, the permissions are set to Read user data "Always allowed" and Edit user data "Always allowed".

I can read all the contacts without any prompts as expected. However, whenever I make a change to a contact, I get the following prompt: Update "John Smith" in 'Contacts'? Yes/No

Is this expected/known behavior or does it sound like something was coded wrong? I just want to know if it is, in theory, possible to change data on a contact without a prompt.

In case it matters, I am adding thumbnails to the contact. It is most annoying to get this Update prompt 50 times in a row, once for each contact.

Which permissions have you defined within your JAD file? Does the same popup appear if you perform other types of updates, like changing contact name?

Hartti, thx. That was it. I guess I'll be re-writing it in Symbian. Hopefully, they can address this in a future firmware update, though it seems the problem has been around a long time and many updates have already come and gone...

Thanks for the info. Saves me time trying to solve the problem at least.

jfergie3, unfortunately this behavior will not change through firmware update.
