N93 - using external display and keys

There are three problems/questions that I would like to resolve, regarding the use of Python on my N93.

    1. does Python know, whether the phone cover is opened/closed?

    2. N93 has a small display on the cover, which activates upon closing of the cover. As the cover is closed, main display is de-activated, and the small cover display is activated. How can I access through Python the cover display (text, graphics, etc)?

    3. For my application I would like to also use some of the external keys of N93. N93 has on its side a set of keys, including arrow keys, normally used for camera/mp3 player when phone is closed. I got the key codes for these keys, and they work perfect, as long as the phone cover is opened. However, as soon as I close the cover, these keys become unresponsive. Why is this, and how can I use them.

    Thank you,

    Dan

I don't think you can access cover UI even within Symbian C++ in that device. I believe it's not running S60 software. E90 has both displays for S60, though.

    Hi JOM,

do you mean to say that N93 is running S60, but the cover has its own OS, and thus is unaccessible for C++/PyS60?

    Well,

That's what I say. To back up my saying, please check this discussion.

    hi Dan
the fact given by jouni is the most correct one but i dosent think that the OS for the cover is different.
