    Question access problem

    Hi everone!

We are currently trying to write a C++ extension for Python which uses the accelerometer that's build into the Nokia N95. The code has been tested on a Windows PC and it's working just fine. The next step was to try and port it to Symbian so that we can actually run it on our Nokia N95. Again, compiling worked just fine and py2sis produced a sis file.

However when we tried to install the file on the device we got the following error message: "Required Application acces not granted". So we did the obvious thing and sent the sis file to Nokia in order to get it signed via symbiansigned.com (we used the "open signed online" option and checked all the available capabilities). Unfortunately that didn't help very much, either. We are still getting the error message and after hours of using Google we are out of ideas.

We also wrote a little HelloWorld-Extension that doesn't use any of the extended capabilities but we still got the error (even after we got it signed from Nokia as well).

It would be really great if anyone could give us a hint on how to solve this problem since we're totally stuck.

    Regards,

    Tobi & Dominik

    Re: access problem

    hi nimrot
i am not having a great hand at the extensions but i may guess that the problem might be with compiling all the files.
    have a feedback.

Not my business, but doesn't Sensor API work for you? Anyway, back to issues...

How do you test sensor in Windows PC? Would be useful to know, so far I've written Sensor API stuff blindly!

    Re: access problem

    Hello jouni and gaba88,

we don't use the Python Sensor API, because we are trying to understand how to code C++ extensions. We found some good information about using the accelerometer with C++, so we took this as a starting point.

We did not test the code using the accelerometer, but our little HelloWorld-extension, where we encountered the same error, unfortunately.

The site http://www.whythefuckwontmysisfileinstall.com/ did not help us. We uploaded our sis-file and the debugger reported only one style error, but nothing severe :-(

@gaba88: what do you mean with "compiling all the files"? Our HelloWorld-Extension seems to work on PC, so shouldn't there be all files compiled?

Thanks a lot for your help so far!

    Dominik
