signing for testing on real device

    Hi

I would like to test a midlet on a real device, but because of the nature of the midlet (accesses filesystem and network) there are a lot of security prompts which make testing very difficult on real devices.
Is there a way how I could sign my midlet "for testing" on real devices? I'm thinking of a limited signature which works for example only a few times, or something like that?
So the question is there any other way than 'java verifited way' to test a midlet on a readl device without security prompts?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

as pointed out in various previous threads, you cannot self-sign your midlet, at least not on Nokia devices (probably on Motorola you could request a developer certificate, but you should check).

Afaik, only way to test on that devices would be buying a certificate from authorities (e.g. Verisign, Thawte).

    6630 is a S60 2nd edition device so there is a workaround

Might work on 9300 as well...

For E61 you meed to use verisign or thawte certificate
