    Symbian Signing cost

    Hi all,
I am new to Symbian Signing. I have developed an application in symbian c++ for S60 3rd edition phones. I am using Location capability. I want to get it expressed signed or certified signed. I dont have Publisher ID. I want to deploy the application to 250 mobile devices. I want to know

    1. What is the total cost involved to get the Publisher ID and get the applicaton express signed for deployment in 250 devices.

    2. What is the total cost involved to get the Publisher ID and get the applicaton certified signed for deployment in 250 devices.

    Thanks and regards,
    Krishna.

    Re: Symbian Signing cost

If i am not wrong the number of devices and type of signing does not matter the PublisherID cost. It is fixed 1 year for $200.00.

If you go for Express Signing add ~$20 to it.

If you go for Certified signing it depends on the testhouse you are going to test.

If you've got alot of time on your hands, you could pass the .sis file through open signed online for each IMEI number.

This would give you a total cost of $0.00

    Andy.

Note: I'm assuming you know the 250 devices you're working with to get IMEI.
Did I just say that out loud?

Open Signed Online does have defence mechanisms against this kind of abuse (or at least so it says).

If you have good enough reasons to run a beta test on 250 phones then you probably should also have a PublisherID and go for the Open Signed Offline. Total cost: 200$ R&D investment.

When it comes to the actual release you can opt for any of the release signing methods with the additional cost for the testing house or just 20$ if you take the risk of Express Signing an untested application.

    Hi all,
Thanks for all the reply. I have a few more queries in this regard

    1. What is the time taken to get the Publisher ID for the first time.

    2. What is the time taken to get my application expressed signed

    3. What is the time taken to get my application certified signed
    by some test house.

    thanks and regards,
    Krishna.

    Re: Symbian Signing cost

    Hi mate,

    From my own experience:

1)1 week maximum, nice people right there they help you if you have any question about TC.

    2)let's say 1 or 2 days

3)3 days if your app fully complies with the criteria

A rough 1 and a half week from start to signed.
