    can you share us how you are implementing your dialog or view whatever it may be.

    Then it will easier to suggest an api for that.

    Thanks

    Re: Dialog display

    Hi Kishore, sorry we changed the idea of implementing dialog. Actually in my project , we will be having 3 menu items, call, Terminate,and Registration. for the call and terminate ,we should have only dest ip field editor to be visible. and when we click on registration, source ip field editor,username ie.text editor, and alpha secret editor ie for password must be visibled.How i can do this. I have added all these 4 controls but i m stuck now in disabling and enabling them.Kindly help.

    Saritha

    Re: Dialog display

    if u still wanted an editor in the dialog here's the code:
    RESOURCE DIALOG r_data_input_dialog
    {
    flags = EGeneralQueryFlags;
    buttons = R_AVKON_SOFTKEYS_OK_CANCEL;
    items =
    {
    DLG_LINE
    {
    type = EAknCtQuery;
    id = EGeneralQuery;
    control = AVKON_DATA_QUERY
    {
    layout = EDataLayout;
    label = "Title:";
    control = EDWIN
    {
    // flags = EEikEdwinNoHorizScrolling | EEikEdwinResizable;
    flags = EEikEdwinNoLineOrParaBreaks | EEikEdwinNoWrap;
    width = 32;
    lines = 4;
    maxlength = 100;
    };
    };
    }
    };
    }
    u can change the CBA instead of R_AVKON_SOFTKEYS_OK_CANCEL u can have ur own

    Re: Dialog display

    Once u set the IP address change the position of IP editor to say TPoint(1000,1000)
    Then Bring Text Editor into focus .After setting the text set position to Tpoint(1000,1000) and bring Password Editor into focus.

    iEditor->SetExtent(TSize(0,0),TPoint(1000,1000)) would do the trick

    use CEikEdwin for Text Editor , CEikSecretEditor for Password and CAknIpFieldEditor for IP editor. Please check SDK help docs for examples.

    Re: Dialog display

    You can also implement it throgh view concept . just switch view on button click and display what ever controls you want(just see view 22 ,23.. in previous sdk example).

    In your container class you can use setfocus();

    2nd method

    For s60 they are providing CAknSettingItemList

    just create your resources by overriding its CreateSettingItemL();

    method.

    Now to handle them properly you can override OkToExitL(TInt aButtonId) method of CAknDialog;

    now you can control it by EditItemL(etrue/efalse);

    Thanks

    Re: Dialog display

    Hi,Cant we add ip field editor and secret editor in the dialog resource, as we do for edwin control.

    RESOURCE DIALOG r_data_input_dialog
    {
    flags = EGeneralQueryFlags;
    buttons = R_AVKON_SOFTKEYS_OK_CANCEL;
    items =
    {
    DLG_LINE
    {
    type = EAknCtQuery;
    id = EGeneralQuery;
    control = AVKON_DATA_QUERY
    {
    layout = EDataLayout;
    label = "Title:";
    control = EDWIN
    {
    // flags = EEikEdwinNoHorizScrolling | EEikEdwinResizable;
    flags = EEikEdwinNoLineOrParaBreaks | EEikEdwinNoWrap;
    width = 32;
    lines = 4;
    maxlength = 100;
    };
    };
    }
    };
    }

    Re: Dialog display

    Yes u can .. Add One more DLG_LINE for adding more controls/editors. The Flag Variables must be different if it has to be a secret/ip edwin.
