    S40 Theme Version 2.0. ,3.0. ,3.0 light?

    Hi There!

I make Themes for Nokia S40 3rd and 5th Edition.
    In Carbide.ui 3.2 i can select 2.0 and 3.0.
That means i got 1 Group for all 3rd and 5th Edition Handsets.
Now in Carbide.ui 3.2.1 i can choose only one of this, 2.0 or 3.0.
Now i need 2 Groups to support all 3rd and 5th Edtion Handsets?
Or can i select only 3.0 or 2.0 to support all Handsets??
Should i use the 3.0 light?
    Thx for help!

Version 2.0 themes will work on both 3d Edition handets and 5th Edition handsets.
Version 3.0 themes will work on 5th Edition handsets but not on 3d Edition ones.
Version 3.0 themes support some additional features that 2.0 themes don't.
You can identify those features by a look at the Properties palette, the ones which only show the "3d" icon:

    Examples:
    - "General" --> "Alerts" --> "Message Box Font Color"
    - "General" --> "Alerts" --> "Message Box Outline Color"
    - "Apps" --> "Calendar" --> "Calendar Font Color"
    - "Apps" --> "Calendar" --> "Calendar Month View Last Week Day Font Color"
    (and some more calendar colors)
    - all parts in "Popup List"

In CarbideUI 3.2.1.0, you could now either
    - create one theme with all parts edited, save both a V2.0 and a V3.0 version of it and offer them separately
    or
    - create one 2.0 theme that is supported by all handsets, but the additional features mentioned above won't show up on 5th Edition phones

I suppose that "Light" themes are intended for some budget models that are indicated as "Series 40 5th Edition LE" and "Series 40 5th Edition Feature Pack 1 LE" in the Device Specifications.

    Ok thx that should help.
But now its better for me to use carbide.ui 3.2, because i can activate both, 2.0 and 3.0 and all Handsets and Features will work in one Themefile.
Or does it not work? Why can i not activate both in the new version??

I don't know if it works, but I think, you can find that out easily.
If you don't have the appropriate phones, you might want to use the different Series 40 SDKs to test your themes on. (If you should have problems with their installation, please don't ask here, but in the Tools and SDK Feedback thread.) You could also post your second question there. I suppose, it can only be answered by the CarbideUI team itself.

I`ve downloaded the SDK`s. Very Cool i don`t knew that i can test my Themes with that.
And it works. If i check both boxes in Version 3.2,
all Handsets and Features are availbable in one Themefile.
    Big thx

For S40 3rd Edition you have to activate Theme Version 2.0!
