Post Much higher heap usages on s40 emulator

My application which uses the JSR 184 API uses 860KB of heap memory on the S60 2nd edition emulator. The same app uses 1600KB of heap memory on the S40 5th edition emulator.
Application loads a few images as Texture2D objects.

Why is the memory usage so high in the S40 emulator?

    Thanks

I am not exactly sure what is the reason behind your app, but I guess screen size might be one of the reasons. For S60 2nd ed, its 176 x 208 and S40 5th ed its 240 x 320.

Re: Much higher heap usages on s40 emulator

Is the M3G implementation different between S60 and S40 in terms of heap usage (specifically w.r.t. loading textures)?

With S60 I noticed that even after loading a lot of 24 bit 256x256 RGB (256x256x3 = 192KB)images the memory usage didn't increase much, as if the implementation was compressing the textures internally or using its own heap.
