Re: Problem with Google map-symbian api example

The project appears to be using a file ClientEngine.cpp, borrowed from one of Nokia's examples:

Inorder to send the HTTP request and also to parse the data obtained from the server, I made use of S60 Platform: HTTP Client API Example v2.1 provided in the document section of the Forum Nokia site. This is a quite helpful document on how to use http Get & Post requests. For the LBSSample application only Get method is used.
Unfortunately, not all the dependencies were included in this new project so if you want to build it you need to build the HTTP example first, so that you have the needed RSG file.

    Easy!

    Hey Chirag,

I am also trying to use this example, but I am not able to build it with my Carbide IDE. I could not properly build the HTTP client example also. Were you able to use this example ? Please help me.

    With thanks and regards...

Are you able to use Carbide.c++ in general? Can you build the SDK examples?

    Yes ltomuta,

I am able to use my Carbide in other cases. I tried to build it using command line also, but without any success.

Could you tell what might be the problem with this ??

    With thanks and regards..

Re: Problem with Google map-symbian api example

Both examples should work with either Carbide.c++ and/or command line tools. But since you say that Carbide does otherwise work there must be some problem with the way you access the project.

Make sure you unzip it on the same drive as the SDK then import it into Carbide and/or build the application as usual. If there are errors list them here so we can have a look at them and suggest solutions.

Edit: Ok, you did that already. Great.

Wrong one. Uninstall it and then install the one recommended in the release notes of either Carbide or SDK.

This unless you also have Vista, in which case you may want to check the Wiki for migration advices, I'm not so sure if the guys contributing there made it work with Perl 5.6 or later release.

Thanks ltomuta for the suggestion. I'll try it out. But, I didn't find any problem for other SDK examples, and for my current working project also with this perl version.

Anyway, I'll get back to you about the result.
