    nokia data logger

    I found out that I can use my PC audio card to sample analog data from external environment, for example signals coming from an IR led hit by a remote-control IR stream:

    I wonder if such a thing is possible also using python to access cellphone microphone.
    If yes, how do I examine the received data? I'd need to just check for amplitude level every bunch of seconds/minutes/hours.

    Probably the easiest would be to save it as wav, which is easy to parse... Find some docs on the .wav format and open it the hard way in python to examine it... It'll be slow though.
