I am fairly new to python and the S60 platform so please be gentle I have a requirement to create luminance histograms from images stored on the phone, I have so far been calling the Image.getpixel() (undocumented) function for every pixel in the image but this is pretty slow. Around 10 seconds to complete for a small-ish image.

I am wondering if there is a faster technique, something like the Image.getdata() method in the PIL is what I am thinking? Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Re: Image processing optimization

I've just come across a similar problem myself and haven't managed to find a solution yet. I was looking for a method to return a list of all the pixels in an image in one call, does anyone know if theres a way to do that?
