    Check on the Access Points

    hi guys,

i am tring to launch the access points in such a way that when i set the access point.. i want to check wether it is a valid access point or not then if it a valid one it has to move on.. otherwise it has to give an information note saying invalid access point is there any check for that ..... i am always getting the pop up list of the access points from database of the phone that contains all the access points .....

and is there any way that we can get only the valid access points from the phone's databases that contains all the access points....

    thanks for the help,

Re: Check on the Access Points

yeah i have used the CCommsDatabase class for that but the problem is whenever i am getting the list of access points i am getting all the access points that are contained in the DB of the phone right from the begging and these are containing even the invalid access points too so i need to check wether the access point that is selected for the connection is valid of not so is there any way that we can check for this situation when a connection is being made..

    thanks for the help,

Re: Check on the Access Points

Even i had been working with access points and had required a similar provision as you have described here. Unfortunately there seems to be no method to check whether an access point is valid or not prior to use.

In my understanding, system cannot know which APN is valid for you. So I think you must know which APN is valid and then compare all APN to find out the valid one.

Re: Check on the Access Points

Yes ,you(the user, not the System) can know whether an access point is Valid or not for Example a when you remove the SIM card the access point corresponding to it will become invalid. However the question is How can you stop it from appearing in the Access point List?? So obviously you will avoid Selecting it once you know it is invalid.

I am not sure we can modify the APN list since it is the system dialog.

Re: Check on the Access Points

    Hi to all ...
Actually i am working on a application which needs to access the internet connection on cell phone ....
in my application it is accessing the default access points folder and finds the active connection.
My application is working soo right on symbian 3rd edition but the problem arises on symbian 5th edition mobiles ....
where an extra folder of uncatogriozed access points exists....
if we change the sim and build new GPRS service settings ... Then it goes to uncatogrized folder ... and we need to move that to internet access points...

What i am looking in is ....
that if i can perform a certain check on this folder if it exists then also check for connections in this folder ....

if any one can help me .....
    i would appreciate that ...
thank you all have a very nice day
