need help on developing an emulator on symbian phones

I'm currently researching the possibity of creating an os emulator on mobile phone. I've got the idea from Wine of linux operating systems which enables linux to run windows programs.
I want something similar for mobile phones, to maybe run some simple windows program on mobile phones. Any ideas on what tools i can use to develop the software, or somehow port the wine to mobile phones.. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Best thing to do would be porting an existing emulator, you don't want to write your own from scratch do you? Don't know the current state of the art, but in my times I used to use bochs and plex for some low level development. You should do some research on your own and find some program portable enough to make a try. Wine sounds like a huge task and I'm not familiar with its inner workings.. You should also think how to map some i/o functionality on a s60 phone.. the obvious approach would be using a communicator / e90 device for this..

yes,I wouldn't want write the emulator from scratch. I was thinking of using qemu though I really have no idea where to start with the porting. hmm.. I gues I will have to do more research and probably I will look up bosch too..

Anyway thanks for a quick reply.

A good starting point is using some posix compliant code (and writing the UI specific code yourself). I'd suggest you have a look at the openC and openC++ libraries and related docs.
