    Question Problem in sending SMS on a required port from GSM Modem to a Midlet Running on Phone

    Purpose:

    I want to send SMS on 50000 port from GSM Modem to a MIDlet running on Nokia MIDP 2.0 handset.

    Problem:

    I need to do it using AT Commands. I am using :

    AT+CMGF=0
    (PDU MODE)

    AT+CMGS=25
    (I am unaware which number I should use here)

    >UDH HEX VALUE HERE ^z
    (I am struggling to find a way to encode data to UDH HEX STRING)

    Please guide me.

    Lightbulb Re: Problem in sending SMS on a required port from GSM Modem to a Midlet Running on P

    Dear Forum Users,

    Although my problem:
    I need to do it using AT Commands. I am using :

    AT+CMGF=0
    (PDU MODE)

    AT+CMGS=25
    (I am unaware which number I should use here)

    >UDH HEX VALUE HERE ^z
    (I am struggling to find a way to encode data to UDH HEX STRING)
    is still not resolved..

    But my purpose
    I want to send SMS on 50000 port from GSM Modem to a MIDlet running on Nokia MIDP 2.0 handset.
    has been solved.

    Solution that I have found is as follows:

    I used SMSJ Library.

    Code:
    public class Class1{
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            Class1 c=new Class1();

            try {
                String receiver="+919891030081";
                String sender="+919891030081";
                SmsPortAddressedTextMessage a=new SmsPortAddressedTextMessage(5000,5000,"Madhur Ahuja is testing the application");

                SmsSender smsSender = SmsSender.getGsmSender("COM8");
                smsSender.connect();
                smsSender.sendSms(a,receiver,sender);

                smsSender.disconnect();

            } catch (SmsException e) {
                System.out.println(e.getMessage());
            } catch(IOException e){
                System.out.println(e.getMessage());
            }

        }
    }
    In case of issues regarding this you can reply on this thread.
