    Download Carbide.c++ v1.3 from here: http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/reso...cpp/index.html

    Also please describe in detail why do you want to use Carbide.c++. Generally it is an IDE used to program on Symbian OS.

    That's fantastic. Would you please elaborate more about nature of your application? Is it a mobile programming? What kind of application are you planning to create?

    Re: Please help!

    If C is what you know you have two choices:
    1. Make an extra effort and learn Symbian C++ (see link in my signature)
    2. Use the OpenC/C++ libraries if supported on your phone and if suitable for the tipe of application you plan to develop

    As Kiran mentioned already, Carbide is just an IDE and it is about time for you to learn that TurboC is just the same. You can write C code in Notepad, it is just that the IDE you use makes your life easier.

    Depending on what type of applications you plan to develop. The Apache browser has been ported to S60 using the OpenC but if you think about accessing native OS services Symbian C++ is the way to go.

    Re: Please help!

    You do not have a choice of compilers, the supported ones are Nokia C++ Compiler for emulator builds and the GCCE or RVCT for the device builds (talking about the recent editions of the S60 platform only).

    In terms of IDEs you may chose: Carbide.c++, Visual Studio + Carbide.vs plug-in, CodeWarrior (no longer supported but still working) or ... Notepad + command line tools. You might be able to tweak other IDEs into using the toolchain too but the ones above have already a very good integration.

    Porting is the process of taking on existing application (written for another OS or for an old/incompatible version of the same OS) and modifying it so that it works on the targeted OS/device.
