    "$(EPOCROOT)Epoc32\release\$(PLATFORM)\$(TARGET)\Test3.exe" -"!:\sys\bin\Test3.exe",FR,RI
    Try this in pkg file it will work after 45 seconds or 1 min of bootup the application will be started

    Re: Autorun Application on Installation for Nokia N80

    I want to do the same (autorun) for Nokia E62. I have created PKG and RSS file as mentioned. i am using UID from protected range which i got from symbian. But when i sign the file using Symbian Opensign and try to install, error pops up saying "UNABLE TO INSTALL".

    Would some advanced soul point us in the right direction of what could be the possible cause.

    Would you please show your .pkg file contents?

    Re: Autorun Application on Installation for Nokia N80

    Would you please show your .pkg file contents?
    Here is my PKG file
    Code:
    ; Installation file for lTest application
    ;
    ; This is an auto-generated PKG file by Carbide.
    ; This file uses variables specific to Carbide builds that will not work
    ; on command-line builds. If you want to use this generated PKG file from the
    ; command-line tools you will need to modify the variables with the appropriate
    ; values: $(EPOCROOT), $(PLATFORM), $(TARGET)
    ;
    ;Language - standard language definitions
    &EN

    ; standard SIS file header
    #{"lTest"},(0xE361D40E),1,0,0

    ;Localised Vendor name
    %{"Vendor-EN"}

    ;Unique Vendor name
    :"Vendor"

    ;Supports Series 60 v 3.0
    [0x101F7961], 0, 0, 0, {"Series60ProductID"}

    ;Files to install
    ;You should change the source paths to match that of your environment
    ;<source> <destination>
    "$(EPOCROOT)Epoc32\release\$(PLATFORM)\$(TARGET)\lTest_0xE361D40E.exe"		-"!:\sys\bin\lTest_0xE361D40E.exe"
    "$(EPOCROOT)Epoc32\data\z\resource\apps\lTest_0xE361D40E.rsc"		-"!:\resource\apps\lTest_0xE361D40E.rsc"
    "$(EPOCROOT)Epoc32\data\z\private\10003a3f\apps\lTest_0xE361D40E_reg.rsc"	-"!:\private\10003a3f\import\apps\lTest_0xE361D40E_reg.rsc"
    "$(EPOCROOT)Epoc32\data\z\resource\apps\lTest_0xE361D40E.mif" -"!:\resource\apps\lTest_0xE361D40E.mif"
    "..\help\lTest_0xE361D40E.hlp"							 -"!:\resource\help\lTest_0xE361D40E.hlp"

    ; Add any installation notes if applicable
    ;"lTest.txt"		-"!:\private\E361D40E\lTest.txt"

    ;required for application to be covered by backup/restore facility
    "..\sis\backup_registration.xml"		-"!:\private\E361D40E\backup_registration.xml"
    Here i am using UID from unprotected range i.e.0xE361D40E Now to autostart i change my uid to 0x2001B45A which i got from symbian.
    Code:
    ; standard SIS file header
    #{"lTest"},(0x2001B45A),1,0,0
    This is the only change i made to PKG file. Are there some more changes to be done in PKG file?

    Re: Autorun Application on Installation for Nokia N80

    You mat need to update UID3 value in .mmp file. Also you may need to change all the occurrence of your old UID3 with this newer one in your project. And finally you may need to rebuild your project.
    By the way have you really checked the suggested thread given in my last post?

    Here is goes: http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=137511

    Re: Autorun Application on Installation for Nokia N80

    I have changed UID3 and secure id in mmp file to 0x2001B45A.
    But there are lot of occurances of old UID 0xE361D40E like
    In mmp
    Code:
    TARGET			lTest_0xE361D40E.exe
    TARGETTYPE		exe
    UID 0x2001B45B 0x2001B45A
    .....
    START RESOURCE	lTest_reg.rss
    TARGET lTest_0xE361D40E_reg.rsc
    TARGETPATH 	  \private\10003a3f\apps
    END //RESOURCE
    .....
    VENDORID	  	  0
    SECUREID		  0x2001B45A
    in PKG file
    Code:
    ; standard SIS file header
    #{"lTest"},(0x2001B45A),1,0,0

    ;Localised Vendor name
    %{"Vendor-EN"}

    ;Unique Vendor name
    :"Vendor"

    ;Supports Series 60 v 3.0
    [0x101F7961], 0, 0, 0, {"Series60ProductID"}

    ;Files to install
    ;You should change the source paths to match that of your environment
    ;<source> <destination>
    "$(EPOCROOT)Epoc32\release\$(PLATFORM)\$(TARGET)\lTest_0xE361D40E.exe"		-"!:\sys\bin\lTest_0xE361D40E.exe",FR,RI
    "$(EPOCROOT)Epoc32\data\z\resource\apps\lTest_0xE361D40E.rsc"		-"!:\resource\apps\lTest_0xE361D40E.rsc"
    .......
    ;required for application to be covered by backup/restore facility
    "..\sis\backup_registration.xml"		-"!:\private\0x2001B45A\backup_registration.xml"
    Do i need to change all occurances of old UID 0xE361D40E to new UID 0x2001B45A MANUALLY?

    Re: Autorun Application on Installation for Nokia N80

    I sign the application from carbide itself using developer certificate.Will change in UID affect this: i.e. do i have to get different developer certificate, or can i use the same one?
    Or do i have to use open signing if have to use the new UID?

    Re: Autorun Application on Installation for Nokia N80

    Following things are there w.r.t to UID

    UID <UID2> <UID3>
    UID2 identifies the component. For all GUI application UID2 should be 0x100039CE. So in your case you do not need to change it. But you may need to change UID3 value.
    So for your case the line will be:

    UID 0x100039CE 0x2001B45A
    Now if you look carefully the line:
    TARGET lTest_0xE361D40E.exe
    Then it resembles the name of your application, so for consistency you should change it according to your new UID3. So for you it should look like:
    TARGET lTest_0x2001B45A.exe
    Finally now the name has been changed, you need to change all the occurrence of old UID3 with newly acquired from symbian signed.
