    UDP SendTo Problem

    Hi,

    I am sending UDP packets to a server. I have an interesting problem that sendto sends duplicate packets. I am not able to understand why. To debug it, I also wrote to a file and found no problem there (no duplicated) but at the same time duplicate packets are being sent on network (verified by independent sniffer)

    #if (DEBUG == 1)
    aDebugFile.Write(aPacket);
    aDebugFile.Flush();
    #endif

    iSocket.SendTo(aPacket, iMyServer, 0, iStatus);
    User::WaitForRequest(iStatus) ;
    Pls help

    Thanks

    it's puzzle indeed, the duplicate as you means is by packets or by the entire data.in other words, whether there is a duplicate packet follows one packet??

    ps: there is no problem when i sending data via udp socket

    Duplicate packets follow each other and it is random

    What is the sniffer u r using ???

    Just by seeing Sniffer u r saying that duplicate packets are injected or you really got duplicate packet at the receiver side.

    Re: UDP SendTo Problem

    Guys,

    See http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...&highlight=udp

    UDP is going to drop and duplicate packets, thats the way its designed to work and you need to handle it irrespective of whether or not your code is faulty.

    If you need packets in sequence and/or guaranteed you have to use TCP/IP and accept the overhead otherwise you will need to use a protocol such as RTSP which handles these kinds of issues.
