    Exclamation Plateform Independent SIS

    Hello. Folks.
    I have a question in my mind.. Can it is possible to make plateform independent SIS. I mean a single SIS works on both 2nd and 3rd edition devices.
    Suppose we have HelloWorld.app(2nd Edition) and HelloWorld.exe(3rd Edition).... Now my question is that if there is any option in .pkg file just like below

    Code:
    if(3rd edition) // can we check device name here eg N95,N80 etc
     {
      ... - "!sys/bin/HelloWorld.exe"
     }
    else
     {
      ... - system/apps/hello/HelloWorld.app"
     }
    Any other way is appretiated..

    Millions of Thanks in advance...

    As far as I know the SIS format is not excatly the same between 2nd & 3rd edition, thus I would see this rather impossible to be done.

    Thanks Jukka Sir.
    Yeah u are very much right tht structure of SIS is diff for both versions. But I ask in terms Machine UID option. Is is not possible to make Switch cases for Machine UID..
    Eg: in .pkg following is possible..
    for Machine UID(N70,N72,N90)-> Launch Hello.app
    and for Machine UID(N95,N80,E61i)-> Launch Hello.exe

    and make SIS from this .pkg...

    Thanks againg for ur valuable time...

    Re: Plateform Independent SIS

    Since the generated sis file cannot be actually read on one platform version or another, the entire discussion about how to script the pkg file is rather pointless, isn't it?
