    JSR 272

    Hello,

I am working on a project about DVB-H. I'd like to use JSR 272 but I can´t find any implementation on the Internet. Do you know if there are jsr 272 implementations available? What should I do to use it?

    Thanks a lot in advance
    Best regards,

    María

Hi marav! Welcome to Forum Nokia Developer Discussion Boards!!

AFAIK, its early to look for 272. I have'nt seen any phones or emulators that support 272 either.

    Regards
    Gopal

    Dear Gopal,

Thank you for your quick answer.
So, if I want to use jsr 272 I should implement it, right?
Do you think this is feasible / worth it?

    Regards,
    María

    Re: JSR 272

You should have gone through FAQ (General issues) for Java discussion boards

Q: My phone does not seem to have support for API xyz. Can it be added on the phone?

    Short answer: No.

Longer answer: No, but if the API can be implemented on using the existing Java APIs on the phone, you can include the required class files in your midlet. This of course makes your midlet bigger and if you need to use the same classes in another midlet, you need to include the classes in that midlet too, as the classes of another midlet are not accessible from other midlets. Also note that in most cases this is not possible as usually the new API requires access to the system functions of the phone.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards
    Gopal

A bit late, I know. However, because I found the current information a bit scattered, links are outdated already or behind a IP wall, let us summarise what you need:
    1. Nokia with Symbian Anna or Belle
    2. a) Nokia Mobile TV Headset DVB-H, the Nokia CU-14A (USB On-the-Go; USB OTG)
      b) Nokia Mobile TV Receiver, the Nokia SU-33W (Bluetooth)
    3. a) Player 2.11.31, 18th July of 2011 (in Poland, South Africa, …), or
      b) Plug-in 2.11.10, 11th March of 2011 (does not work for me)
Then, only then the Broadcast API (JSR-272) is available and useable. More about this, in the Nokia Java Developer’s Library …
