    Streaming video on N95 using J2ME

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to stream VIDEO on an N95 device using J2ME MIDP 2 application.

    For some reason I am unable to stream the mpeg4-3gp file from the darwing server.

    Also when I query bot the device & the emulator using GetSupportedProtocol() and GetSupportedContent I get string which reports the device only support rtsp and audio/3gpp.

    Has anyone been able to stream VIDEO in that manner? If you have any information/links regarding to that matter I'll appreciate alot.

    The method below plays a video file the on mobile device:
    public void run()
    {
    try
    {
    String url = "http://server/video.mpg or video.3gp";
    Player p = Manager.createPlayer(url);
    p.realize();

    //Get the video controller
    VideoControl video = (VideoControl) p.getControl("VideoControl");

    //Get a GUI to display the video
    Item videoItem = (Item)video.initDisplayMode(
    VideoControl.USE_GUI_PRIMITIVE, null);

    //Append the GUI to a form
    videoForm.append(videoItem);

    //Start the video
    p.start();
    }
    catch(Exception e)
    {}
    }

    If you want to play the video from an rtsp server, you only need to change url with "rtsp://server/video.mpg or video.3gp".

    hi

    I did the exact same thing with Darwin tream server but instead of:
    Item videoItem = (Item)video.initDisplayMode(
    VideoControl.USE_GUI_PRIMITIVE, null);

    I did:
    vc.initDisplayMode(VideoControl.USE_DIRECT_VIDEO , canvas);

    but there should not be any difference.

    I think maybe the problem is the server side.
    Check if streaming available when using rtsp url using vlc

    p.s
    n95 supports only mp4 or 3gp

    Hi!

    Has anyone observed the problem on N95 with playing video/audio using RTSP streaming?
    I receive prefetch error -39 when trying to play it from midlet and in the same time this URL is played OK if using the standard player.
    May it be the reason that we use 3gp container for audio without video?

    I checked that code, it's not working with my n95 8gb, I'm doing the stream with vlc media player.
    with realplayer in n95, I can get the audio, but I cannot get the video.
    when I check the stream from quicktime, I can get the video.

    tried this also, but could not succeed at it.
