Which type of application? And how did you compile your application? From Carbide.c++ IDE or from command prompt?

you missed to configure Carbide.C++ to compile it for winscw.

Any way even if you compile your application for emulator you can't test it on Emulator as emulator does not support camera.

Re: BLDMAKE ERROR: Platform WINSCW not supported by

Just to add to Kumar, the 'configure environment for winscw commandline' is needed if you compile it on the command line. If you are completely dependent on the IDE for building, then its not needed. So describing how you are building when you get error would also be appropriate to give suggestions.

Like already suggested, for your application, it probably is a better idea to compile it for gcce urel and test it on device directly.

Re: BLDMAKE ERROR: Platform WINSCW not supported by

    Hi,
I have been trying to run my carbide.c++ IDE application over 2 days, still I can't make it run. When I run it ,gives an error like :

BLDMAKE ERROR : platform winscw not supported by "........\BLD.INF"

bldmake returned with exit value = 1

I have just installed Carbide.c++ IDE v1.3 and S60 SDK FP2 v1.1 and also Perl.. Do I need sth more to install? I am so new in that language. I was just running the basic helloWorld application just for trying if it works but I have failed. What can the problem be?

Also When I work on Netbeans, I am also getting an error too.. It waits for a while to connect to the agent and then fails..

Please , anyone to help ?

    Thanks

It can be true. Check if that bld.inf has an explicit PRJ_PLATFORMS section, and if it has, check what platforms are listed there. Many API-s are not available in the emulator.

Welcome to the Forum and thanks for the mail, but someone would definitely answer even if you didnt mail personally as the DiBo has many wonderful and helpful persons like wizard_hu_ himself.
I feel Wizard already given you a good check-list. If you have more clarifications, information regarding what application you are trying to build would also be helpful so that somebody trying to check on your issue can give you more definitive answers.

    good Luck

Thank you very much for your reply wizard_hu_ . I have checked PRJ_PLATFORMS section but it just writes as DEFAULT. There is not any list. Just "DEFAULT".
And I have just read sth related with that :

bldmake supplies platforms WINS, WINSCW, ARMI, ARM4 and THUMB by default

As I said before I do not know so much what all of these means. I am student. I have been learning but I can not have the program run really. So I cant go on. What do I need to get over that problem?

    "DEFAULT" should be fine indeed.
    Some additional things to check:
    - which Perl have you installed? It should be 5.6.1 635 or 638
    - have you executed "Configure environment for WINSCW command line" from the Carbide group in the Start Menu?

Re: BLDMAKE ERROR: Platform WINSCW not supported by

    I have Perl 5.6.1 635.

I had executed once "Configure environment for WINSCW command line". There were two questions on the screen. But now I executed again but I cant see these questions again and the screen seems disabled to write sth.

Try to generate a helloworld from the carbide wizard and see if you can compile it for that one(just to be sure that the helloworldbasic that you are trying from the SDK examples is not tampered one) or maybe you want to import a different example and try to build it. But I would vote more for a simple gui based helloworld generated using carbide wizard. and try to build it in carbide rather than the commandline for starters.

Re: BLDMAKE ERROR: Platform WINSCW not supported by

I have tried that one too, still no way.. It gives the same error, my winscw not supported by ..../bld.inf ,,
After giving that error,i see a "problem occured" window and it tells that the reason is "C:\S60\devices\SDK_3rd_FP2_SDK_v1.1\epoc32\release\winscw\udeb\merhaba.exe not found".

I think I will never be able to use that program..
