    Re: Binary SMS ???

A Binary SMS is a message with a binary payload.
The payload must be coded as TPDU and may contain
    Ringtones, Operator images, ...
    Please see
    http://www.gsm-modem.de/sms-pdu-mode.html for more info.

    Hello All!
I started this thread few days back but didn't get very clear response.
Can you experts guide me, if i dont have a GPRS conenction available on the handset, will i be able to send and receive an image using binary sms within a Midlet application?

    I'll appreciate your help..

    Re: Binary SMS ???

    Hi,
I know in server side If you want to send any ring to to the mobile client we use the binary sms By it will specify the port number(5505) if any Binary sms will come to 5505 it will recognize as a ring tone.

I think it is similar in j2me also if you send the binary sms i.e(Ring tone converted i to binary and send to 5505) it will recognize as a Ring tone. I am not aware about picture message port number
