    Exclamation On-device profiler crashes!

    Hi all,

I've been trying to use the S60 3.1 FP1 on-device performance investigator, and have run into some problems. I've got the latest Carbide.c++ (1.3 plus I ran an update from the IDE), and my device is a Nokia N73.
I installed the profiler (S60_3_1_Prof_v1_62.sisx) on the device, start it up and modify the settings, and then attempt to start the profiling.
The status info changes to 'initialising', stays like that for about a minute, I then get an error popup saying 'Error: general error' and the status changes to 'finished'. When I exit the application I get KERN-EXEC 0.
I tried installing both on the C: drive and on my memory card, with no difference.

Has anyone managed to successfully run the profiler on a N73 or similar device? Are there any known issues? I've search the forum, and googled the problem, and found a few people with similar issues, but no answers. Any help/info at all would be very helpful!

    Thanks,
    Björn Rudolfsson

    Re: On-device profiler crashes!

you should get the 3.0 version, since your N73 is 3.0 device.

    doh! :-)

Yucca, you are the champ! For some reason I had it in my mind that N73 was FP1.

I installed the 3.0 version and it works fine.

    Thanks a lot!

    Hello all,

    I've got the same problem.

My device is a nokia N91 and I installed the profiler S60_3_0_Prof_v1_60.sisx.

    Any solution?

    Thanks in advance.

Ok, it's the right version for the right device but as you can see Bjorn has a newer version of the profiler, why don't you try the same...

To get the latest profiler you need to update your Carbide.c++ installation.

    Hello Itomuta,
Thank you for your solution, but I've installed Carbride c++ v 1.3 and I've got the same problem.

    Has Anyone else another solution?

    Thanks in advance.

Just to make sure, you have tried using S60_3_0_Prof_v1_62.sisx from Carbide.c++ v1.3.1.036?

If so, you can try to open a bug report in Carbide's Bugzilla https://xdabug001.ext.nokia.com/bugzilla
