    FP2: need Secure Uid for Idle application

    We need Secure Uid for Idle application for FP2 to get from RProperty if Idle is in focus or not.

    For FP1 it was 0x102071C0.

    Can anyone write this UID for FP2?

    you could check any applications UID with focus monitoring, or by checking it with tools like Y-Tasks.

    Hi olgap,

    UIDs in the range of 0x10000000 to 0x19999999 could be used as secure UID on S60 2nd but no two applications could have the same UID.

    Therefore, just for testing purpose u can use any UID from this range provided any application with that uid is not already installed on your device.

    Finally for actual deployment and symbian signing you will have to get a unique uid from "symbiansigned" so that it doesn't clashes with any other application.

    Regards,
    Suyash.

    Actually Not, you should only use test range UIDs for testing, and it would be preferred to use actual developer reserved values if you are not using test range, othervise you might end up having unwanted problems.

    All and all, just noticed that I gave a bit wrong answer. You could check the UID of any application with checking it from the process or task, but it could be different than is used in the RProperty. The UID value could be used for focus monitoring as descriped in the Wiki.

    But the property values, if not published, are thought to be non-public, thus, if you want access to a API which with you can query the idle view's status, you should open a API partnering request for obtaining the information.

    Re: FP2: need Secure Uid for Idle application

    I've found that this const is defined in TelephonyInternalPSKeys.h of KAccessoryModeChanged API included in S60_3rd_Ed_SDK_FP1_API_Plug-In_Pack_v2_5
    /**
    * Idle Information API UID
    */
    const TUid KPSUidIdleInformation = {0x102071C0};

    but i didn't foind it no in FP2 SDK no in FP2 S60_3rd_Ed_SDK_FP2_API_Plug-In_Pack_v1_1

    Are Nokia planing to share this PS variable for FP2?

    if the value is not in the SDK plug-in or in the public SDK, then it is non-public, and you could try getting access to it through API partnering.

    It is a bit hard to predict which APIs do get into the API plug-in, so I would not even try quessing the possibility.
