a simple webpage becomes a download

    Hello,

I am a web developer and came across a weired problem that I have no idea how to solve it.
I have a problem with the standard browser on certain S60 devices.
On some pages, sometimes the browser does not render the page, but instead recognises it as a download, showing the download dialog. Once I download the page, the link from then on will not work at all anymore. To make the link work again, I have to clear the cache and delete the download.
From webserver prospective everything looks totally normal, any other browser I have checked so far does not have this problem.
The problem does not happen on an N95 but among others on an N80. It happens sometimes, not always.

What can I do do (http headers) to ensure this problem does not occur?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

When that happens, your web server is most likely not configured to send the correct MIME type (text/html) for the page (as part of the HTTP headers).

Or if the responsibility of sending the correct MIME headers is not on the web server, but a server-side application (CGI script, or whatever) that overrides the web server settings/defaults, then that application is not sending the correct headers.

I now make sure the application serving the webpage will always send (when appropriate at least) a header with content-type set to text/html.
So far it looks fine, the problem has not occurred during my tests today.
    So thanks a lot!
