    Push Register problem

    Hello all!

    I want to make my midlet start automatically when there is datagram connection to specific port.

    At first I tried to use static Push Registration for my midlet. This is its jad file:

    MIDlet-1: MobiVideo, , com.sitex.mobi.plugins.MobiVideo
    MIDlet-Jar-Size: 101107
    MIDlet-Jar-URL: MobiVideo.jar
    MIDlet-Name: MobiVideo
    MIDlet-Push-1: datagram://:5000,com.sitex.mobi.plugins.MobiVideo,*
    MIDlet-Vendor: Sitex
    MIDlet-Version: 1.0
    MicroEdition-Configuration: CLDC-1.1
    MicroEdition-Profile: MIDP-2.0

    When I install the midelt on my phone (Sony Ericsson z750) it downloads in full and then throws "Operation failed" message.

    After that I removed MIDlet-Push-1 line from jad file and tried to use dynamic Push Registration. My code is below:

    String midletClassName = MobiVideo.class.getName();
    String filter = "*";
    String URL = "datagram://:5000";
    try {
    PushRegistry.registerConnection(URL, midletClassName, filter);
    } catch (Exception e) {
    showAlert(e.getMessage(), true);
    }

    I don't have any error message in this case. BUT when I try to retrieve information about all registered connections with PushRegistry.listConnections(false) it returns nothing.

    Does anybody have any idea what is wrong?

    Thanks.

    Re: Push Register problem

    Hi,
    Why don't you try like changing the port number to other than 5000 it is for to just test.

    If you are serving the jar from any servet/jsp or asp after getting the jar the client will send the status code of the installation to the server. I think this will be use full to clarify either the push regesty will be causing the problem or it is due to others..

    The status codes are

    900 Success
    901 Insufficient memory
    902 Canceled by the user
    903 Loss of network service (because of the network service loss, this report may never get delivered to the server)
    904 JAR size mismatch
    905 Attribute mismatch
    906 Invalid descriptor
    907 Invalid jar
    908 Incompatible configuration or profile
    909 Application authentication Failure
    910 Application authentication Failure
    911 Push registration failure
    912 Deletion Notification

    Thank you for your answer. Actually I tried to use different ports but it did not help. Also I replaced datagram connection with socket one in dynamic registration. After that I got the error message "Unsupported schema". By the way on Sony Ericsson emulator push registration works properly, there is no problem. But on my phone it does not work. Perhaps ypele is right and this function is blocked on real phone ((

    Hi,
